I am getting this big stent out on Thursday. For the first time ...I am really having a hard time tolerating this stent this last week. pain even thru meds. In 10 weeks and I wanted to do that to give it every opportunity to heal.
I don't know if I ever blogged this in ss blog, but the problem is that the damaged part of my ureter (distal end) is more than a centimeter and so urodoc said that it is more difficult to heal if more than a cm and they all recommend the reconstructive (psoas hitch) surgery and I have avoided four 4 1/2 yrs now, had 3 relapses and multiple stentings. But the high risk and/or complications part has scared me. But this all has put my life on hold and looking back, I cannot believe so much time has gone by.
My doc says this is the last stent. I thought I'd have to have the surgery this past Feb and so I'm glad that I had another chance with the big stent.
As always ...I am praying ..believing for a miracle and I know if my ureter remains open and I don't need the surgery ...it would absolutely be a miracle.
