Okay so I quit Psychiatry! I won't sit the exam on the upcoming Friday, instead, I'll wait until the examinations of January.
I feel free... I could just dance around singing:
"I feel pretty... Oh so pretty... I feel pretty and witty and gaaaaaaay (gay means happy - duh)
And I pitty.... any girl who isn't me... to-day
Lalalallaalalalaa"
*the "could just dance around" was a figure of speach, I did of course literally jump around, at HOME*
"Who's that pretty girl in that mirror there?
-whaaaaaat mirror where?
who can that ATRACTIVE girl BEEEEEEEEEE"
Aaaaah.... The joy of sitting around doing NOTHING. :-)
I baked cookies. Chocolate ones with nuts and stuff and I think they're delicious... So you're thinking: "hey, wasn't she on a diet -like forever?"
And I shall reply: "Oh yes she IS... These cookies and similar actions are the exact reason of the FOREVER part of it"...
Nah well, I'll give you three reasons in my defence:
1. Marilyn
2. Beyonce
3. Real life women DUDE
Besides, you can't fill those "Seven jeans" with bones, now can you?
That's right girls... Today I woke up feeling bad. I had JUST taken care of my hair and it's not that I go to the salon or anything, Nor do I blow dry it and stuff. But it just sat really nicely. And so I look outside and it was RAINING. Why oh dear God WHY was it raining??? Couldn't it just wait until I got to school or sth? Does this seem to much to ask for?
But anyway as I parked my car in the school/ hospital parking lot, various students rushing to their clinics with white robes on their hands, I saw sth breathtaking. I tried to capture it in a picture:
I don't know if you can tell, but there is this great big rainbow towering over the sky, the only colour in front of the grey dark clouds... It was the biggest rainbow that I have ever seen and it actually started from the city (ground), made a perfect half-circle and ended right in front of me on the bus stop.
If I had time I would go and check for gold.
It did make my day, however, and sometimes I guess I shouldn't make it to hard on my self... You know, just take it nice and easy... :)
Have a Nice Day... :-)

what a beautiful rainbow, it brightened up my day seeing it in your photo
How did you quit Psychiatry? You just quit? No penalty? How are you able to write the exam in Jan?
I wish I could do that for my micro exam. le sigh.
Who's that girl? Nanananananana! She's that girl! NAnanananana!
But yey for COOKIES!!! I LOVE COOKIES!!!
Psh. Seven jeans only fit skeletons here. honestly. Skin and bones. it's nasty!
Je suis fatigue. Je suis mal. La vie suckez (ahahaha I don't know suck in french)
rusty aka emma: Then I guess it was definitely worth the 30 minutes that the photo took to upload (why I'll never know!!!) ;-)
Jess: In Greece there's no penalty for "failing" or "not showing up" for an exam. You can sit for an exam in its semester (eg January or June) and again in September. Or again next year. Or the year after that...
Schools are public, you don't pay to get or stay in, you just have to write as well as you can in senior year school exams. The questions are all the same for the whole country and prepared overnight, school is guarded by police, and teachers/examiners swap so you don't have your own teacher "in charge" of your exam. The names are covered and the exams ship to different places in the country to be corrected. Then they all go to the ministry, the names are opened and matched to the grades.
Then you send your application- where you have chosen a number of schools, your first choice first, and so on. The first of the excellent gets to go to his first choice and so on, if the year is full (eg 90 people in my school in first year) then no one else can enter, and they go to their second choice and so on.
So far there are no penalties for failing, books are for free, except in some schools you must pass a subject to pick another one next year (eg I have to pass Internal Medicine to be allowed in the clinics). Theoretically, so far, you were allowed to study forever, but without the other privilleges (eg discounts for students) once you pass the time limit of years of your school.
This is all about to change with new laws. The students are fighting these laws and that's why schools are being closed down and taken over by students for the past two years as a protest.
Most students however finish their school on the time they should, or maybe with a semester more. It's called "caring for your own life, liking what you study, not wanting to be a loser constantly paid by their parents", you pick! The amount of people who are called in Greece "Eternal students" is small, and it's mostly people who already have finished one school and then entered a second one and they're taking it slow while working on the side.
ANYWAY- we fourth years study Internal Medicine and the system of study changes every other week. So, eg I won't be doing anymore Psychiatry from this Friday to January. That's why our kind teachers give us the oportunity of an extra unofficial examination on Friday, when the subject is "fresh" in your mind. If you sit the exam on Friday, you can't sit again in January, you have to wait for Sept. (you follow?).
I however chose to leave Psych for January when I will have more time. After all it will be my only exam for January (hopefully) and I will have a full examination period just for one subject.
WOW this is long. :-) I hope you understood what's going on, really :-D
I have a pair of Seven jeans who hate me. I swear- I don't know WHAT is wrong with these pants, they seem to get tighter and harder no matter how much I wear them or how thin I get. Jeez...
ahhhh, that sense. Thanks for explaining it!!!
Quit psych? So what are you gonna do now? Change departments?
You had a camera with you?
You just won my respect for being THE MOST PREPARED WOMAN IN THE WORLD. That is cool.
(Does anyone read the Sweet Potato Queen books? They say the most important thing about being a woman is to BE PREPARED.)
savante: No, I'm just a medical student yet. I'll just wait for the next examination date in January and sit the exam then.
Sara: I'm so sorry but I think I've lost your respect ;-)
It was from my cellphone that I took the picture...
I am hardly ever prepared for anything as such. :)
Your phone takes really amazing pictures. I've only seen really fuzzy ones from phones.
Sara: "uthink?" It's Z610i by Sony Ericsson ;-)
Yay!!! And enjoy the dancing (and the eating). The predancing stage is always awful, but at least dancing comes after!
And I generally hate jeans and avoid wearing them, as I am a real woman and not a skeleton.
hullo! WHAT A LOVELY PHOTO!!! you're one very lucky girl ;) incredibly clear photo by the way! my cellphone camera is crap :(
dragonfly: GO real women GO !
ditzydoctor: Thank you! I hadn't quite realised that he picture was as clear until all of you said it. Surprisingly though, not all of my cell phone pictures are as clear. :-P
